Macon's Eco-friendly solutions for catering disposable products

We Believe eco-friendly products shouldn't come at a premium price

As a business owner in the food service industry, you're likely aware of the growing demand for eco-friendly food packaging products. While the benefits of using sustainable packaging are clear, many businesses are hesitant to make the switch due to the perception that it will come at a premium price point.

We believe that sustainability and affordability can go hand in hand. As a business owner, you shouldn't have to choose between doing what's best for the environment and what's best for your bottom line. With Macon Direct Catering, you can have the best of both worlds.

Raw Materials

We believe that it's our responsibility as a business to ensure that our products are not only functional and affordable but also eco-friendly. By using renewable raw materials, we can help preserve natural resources, reduce waste, and minimize our impact on the planet.

WOOD AND VIRGIN FIBERBOARD

Wood grows back, is environmentally friendly and biodegradable; catering disposables and food packaging products made of wood and cardboard are fully approved for direct contact with dry, moist and greasy food. Unlike recycled material, fresh fiber guarantees that no pollutants, such as those from waste paper processing, can migrate into food. Only wood from sustainable, FSC ® -certified forestry is used.

SUGAR CANE

Sugar cane is primarily used for the extraction of sugar. The sugar juice is pressed out of the tube. The fibrous part remains as a by-product, the bagasse, with which chic and stable plates, bowls or menu boxes can be shaped. The sustainable products are microwaveable and biodegradable. Sugar cane is a raw material that grows back up to three times a year and is sourced from an environmentally optimized supply chain.

PALM LEAF

Biodegradable and compostable palm leaf circular tableware is made from the leaves of the areca palm. The tree bears huge palm fronds with leaves that it naturally sheds every few weeks. These are cleaned and dried in the sun. They are pressed under heat in a special process into microwaveable plates and bowls. The individual surface structure makes each piece unique.

BAMBOO

Bamboo is a raw material that grows back extremely quickly, is very environmentally friendly and yet tasteless - naturally antibacterial or antimicrobial and hypoallergenic. Other advantages of crockery or cutlery made of bamboo are the stability and the natural look. The puristic production (rolled and shaped) takes place without chemical additives such as melamine resin or dyes.

CORN(STARCH)

Visually, haptically and functionally, bioplastic products can hardly be distinguished from normal plastic items. Cold beverage or packaging cups made of PLA (polylactide) or cups and soup bowls made of CPLA (crystallized polylactide, each based on corn starch) are completely biodegradable or - even better - recyclable. Intensive research activities lead again and again to an optimization of the process engineering.

AGRICULTURAL WASTE

The approach that is already used for products made from sugar cane or palm leaves, namely to use accumulating and falling plant residues sensibly, also applies to agricultural residues. The plant residues from agricultural production are dried in the sun, ground and then processed as self-binding fibers into a pulp that is injected into molds and dried. This is how you get bio-based packaging and stable disposable tableware.

Conclusion

In conclusion, as a business owner, choosing to offer eco-friendly products is not only a responsible choice for the environment, but it can also lead to increased sales and profitability. The growing trend towards sustainable living means that customers are increasingly conscious of their carbon footprint and are willing to pay more for eco-friendly products. Additionally, many eco-friendly alternatives are now more affordable than ever before, thanks to advances in technology and manufacturing processes.
